White Oak varies in color from light to medium brown with an olive, yellow or reddish tint. It has straight grain, with medium bending and crushing strengths making this excellent steam bending material. It is strong and beautiful.  It glues, stains and finishes well.  White Oak is the state tree of Connecticut, Illinois, and Maryland.
