Aromatic Cedar has a brilliant color and distinctive aroma. It has a straight grain pattern, usually with knots present. It has a very fine texture.  It is usually reddish to violet-brown.  Pale yellow colored streaks or stripes will sometimes be present.  It is known to repel moths and bugs so it is ideal wood for chests and lining of chests
