Our Unfinished MDF Core Wood collection offers the same carefully sourced species as our finished line — maple, walnut, cherry, African mahogany, Sapele, clear alder, aromatic cedar, red oak, white oak, bamboo, and birch — without the pre-applied finish. That means you bring your own stain, paint, oil, or specialty coating and get exactly the look you're after, with no stripping or sanding off a finish that wasn't right for your project.

It's also the smarter choice when your finish is part of the design. Reactive stains, alcohol inks, wood burning effects, and custom color treatments all perform better on a raw surface — and unfinished wood gives you that blank canvas without compromise.

Available in 1/8" and 1/4" in a 12x19" format across all eleven species. Compatible with CO2 and diode lasers, though diode users may want to consider our Maker Boards Natural Ply line for cleaner cuts and better filter performance.
