Sometimes the adhesive backing isn't what you need. Our Unfinished Wood Veneer collection offers 17 premium species — without the 3M adhesive backing of our finished line — giving you a clean, raw veneer surface that works with traditional woodworking adhesives, specialized glues, and application methods that pressure-sensitive backing can't accommodate.

For furniture inlay, instrument building, custom woodworking projects, and any application where you're controlling the adhesive yourself, unfinished veneer without pre-applied backing is the professional's choice. It also gives you complete freedom over the finishing process — stains, oils, and specialty coatings all penetrate raw veneer more deeply and authentically than they would over a pre-finished surface.

Available species include walnut, maple, Sapele, African mahogany, red oak, cherry, hickory, zebrawood, clear alder, bamboo, aromatic cedar, bubinga, koa, eucalyptus, poplar, beech, and afromosia — all at approximately 1mm thickness and sized at 12x19" for a standard laser bed. Compatible with both CO2 and diode laser cutters.
