American Cherry is known for its stable, straight grain pattern.  The close even texture and beauty of Cherry have made it synonymous with fine woodworking projects.  Black Cherry develops a rich reddish-brown patina as it ages.  You can create the patina look with wood stains. Gel stains are recommended to use with cherry for an even finish
