Cleaning Your Air Assist Fan

Is it that time again? The pulse speeds up and the anxiety starts. Yep, it is that time! Time to clean the air assist fan! The first time I cleaned it I thought I would pass out from a panic attack. Happily I can report that I can now clean it like a pro. Cleaning the air assist really helps with flare ups, flashbacks and even cutting of materials.

My daughter-in-law just got a Glowforge and I was showing her the ropes, including how to clean the air assist. That old familiar panic feeling started to rise, but I had to show her that it wasn’t a big deal, just a common occurrence, so I pulled up the Glowforge link and we followed it step by step. 

I prepared her first saying, “This is the scariest part of owning a Glowforge, but it isn’t that bad once you get used to it”.

We went through it with her doing the taking the fan off and putting it back on and the belt on and off, and she was a pro from the start.  

I am beginning to think that a lot of the hardness of cleaning this fan, all comes from my attitude.  

She said after, “if that is the scariest part, I’m good!”.
